Culture Organisations and Venues Recovery Fund: applications portal open from 17 September

To help address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on culture and heritage, the Scottish Government has announced a £59m emergency fund with £15m of this ring fenced for the Culture Organisations and Venues Recovery Fund.

Applicants can apply to this fund for between £10k and £150k and up to £250k on an exceptional basis (see details in guidance document shown here for more information).

Who can apply?

Applicants need to have been working in Scotland’s culture sector before April 2019, and at significant threat of insolvency as a result of COVID-19 restrictions. Organisations that can apply include:

  • Art galleries
  • Studio facilities
  • Comedy venues
  • Large music venues
  • Commercial theatres
  • Orchestras
  • Dance companies
  • Nightclubs

What information is needed to apply?

Eligible applicants are required to demonstrate the following:

  • The organisation’s impact on the cultural life of Scotland
  • That the organisation was financially viable before COVID-19
  • That funding is required to prevent insolvency or job losses

How to apply

The online application portal goes live at 12 noon on Thursday 17 September. Once live, a link to the portal will be available on this page.
