The role

Azets is open to suggestions for flexible working arrangements, including flexible hours and part time arrangements.

This is primarily a home working role, however travel to offices will be required to fully embrace this role.

Join our Quality & Technical Team as an Audit Quality Monitoring Lead, where you’ll take the lead on our firm's audit quality monitoring review activities.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Azets’ growth journey. Working as part of our Quality and Technical Team and reporting to our Head of Audit Quality & Technical, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our high standards of audit quality are met and provide valuable practical insights as part of remediation and quality improvement initiatives across our business.

Whilst monitoring and remediation is a core part of the role, there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved in a number of exciting projects running across our audit business and to provide direct support to our engagement teams.

Key accountabilities

• Planning and performing completed engagement reviews for our UK audit and assurance business
• Supporting regional audit leadership with causal analysis and remedial action planning
• Liaising with external quality monitoring teams and providing support to Azets team members when responding to regulatory monitoring findings
• Liaison with cross service line quality and technical teams to embed consistent quality monitoring and remediation processes across the Azets UK business
• Supporting with pre-acquisition due diligence and post acquisition quality monitoring as part of acquisition activities
• Coordinating monitoring activities or RI pathway monitoring reviewers and external specialist review teams
• Planning and performing monitoring activities to provide evidence over the design, implementation and operation of our firms system of quality management
• Recording and reporting of monitoring findings at a local, regional and national level
• The opportunity to provide support to teams through the audit technical and ethical support function as well as be involved in the design and/or delivery of training and practical resources for our audit teams.

Skills & experience

• Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CA or ACCA)
• Experience in audit, audit quality control and/or audit inspection
• In depth knowledge of IFRS and/or UK GAAP
• Excellent insight and analytical skills
• Passionate about audit quality with a desire to seek new ways to drive improvement
• A willingness to work flexibly both as part of a close-knit team and as a self-directed individual
