I have almost 20 years' experience in IT and Internal Audit across all market sectors and, prior to Scott-Moncrieff, I worked as an Internal Auditor for the in-house Internal Audit team of NHS Lanarkshire, which involved a range of internal and computer audit assignments.
I work with a wide range of clients across all market sectors which vary in scale from small businesses with small IT functions to multi-national organisations with IT teams in excess of 200 personnel. A regular feature of the work I deliver relates to outsourced IT provision and I have audited a number of large outsourcing providers. Examples of clients with whom I have worked are National Savings & Investments, NHS National Services Scotland, Glasgow City Council and Scottish Ambulance Service.
I also lead a number of co-sourced IT audit contracts where we provide IT assurance services on behalf of in-house internal audit teams.
I currently manage the IT audit for the external audit of National Savings & Investments (NS&I) which manages over £110bn of UK savers’ money (12% of the UK savings market). I also lead the delivery of the NHS Scotland National IT Contract Service Audit and perform special investigations and fraud reviews for clients.
I particularly enjoy the variety of the work I undertake. Whilst IT exists in all organisations, it varies significantly which means each job presents a different challenge. My biggest career achievement to date was having my data security report published on the Scottish Government website.
I am a member of the Information Systems and Controls Association (ISACA).
