Business overview

Kelsey Media has announced the acquisition of Crop Production Magazine (CPM). First published in February 1999, CPM has steadily grown to become the UK’s leading arable technical title across print and digital – profiling innovative crop production techniques, new machinery developments and ground-breaking technologies.

CPM represents a key addition to the Kelsey portfolio of agriculture titles, bringing clear benefits and synergies to a portfolio which includes market leading brands; profi International, Farm Machinery, South East Farmer and Vineyard.

Perspectives

Steve Wright CEO of Kelsey Media commented “I am delighted to welcome Angus and his team to Kelsey Media. CPM has proved over many years how valued and respected it is by readers and the market. Its commitment to quality, independent journalism and reporting make it an ideal addition to our portfolio and we look forward to working with the CPM team to develop the brand even further in the future.”

Angus McKirdy, founding editor and publisher of CPM added “The possibilities are endless and I’m absolutely thrilled by this development. Kelsey Media’s acquisition of CPM brings significant advantages, creating exciting new opportunities – including technical events, conferences and awards, as well as new digital tools and multi-media innovations, allowing CPM’s award-winning editorial team to achieve a deeper level of engagement with its readers.”

David Ellis, Corporate Finance Director at Azets commented: “I am delighted to have advised Angus throughout this transaction and it was great to work with Steve at Kelsey again. I believe that Kelsey is the ideal partner to continue the success of CPM and look forward to hearing about Angus’ continued success as part of the larger group.

Quote Icon David is clearly a very experienced deal-maker and was highly instrumental in achieving the right result for both CPM and Kelsey. I’m immensely grateful for his input and am now very much looking forward to working with Steve and rest of the Kelsey team.
