Azets ranks 38th in Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers

Azets, the UK’s largest regional accounting firm and specialist advisor to SMEs, has ranked 38th in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers 2022.

The Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers is the league table of the leading apprenticeship employers in England, developed by the Department of Education in partnership with High Fliers Research.

The 2022 rankings recognise employers that are making the greatest commitment to apprenticeships and benchmark successful apprenticeship employment in different industries and business sectors.

Employers are assessed on the number of apprentices they currently employ, the number of new apprenticeships they have created over the past 12 months, the diversity of these new apprentices, and the progression of their apprentices onto further apprenticeships and employment.

More than 400 large employers entered the rankings, with Azets ranked inside the top 40 in recognition of its early careers programme.

Azets employs nearly 1,000 students in the UK, with more than 50% of those completing professional qualifications as an apprentice. This provides them the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviours to be future leaders.

217 students joined Azets last year, with the total number of employees completing an apprenticeship representing 21% of Azets’ total UK workforce. More than 300 students are joining this year, with recruitment ongoing.

It is the first time Azets has featured in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers as one of three new entrants. The firm plans to retain its place in the list with continued investment in its apprenticeship scheme as part of its overall growth strategy.

David Whitson-Black, Group Head of Talent Development at Azets, said: “This ranking underpins our commitment to early careers and apprenticeships – and is one of many accolades we have achieved under the Azets brand. Our business is thriving, and we are lucky to have so many talented young advisors starting their career with Azets. We will continue to increase the number of students and apprentices we hire, with a clear path for progression and support from our expanding team of established advisors sharing their experience and learning new techniques from our cohort of rising stars.”
