You will be expected to provide a wide range of customs and excise duty services and business advice to a variety of clients from small, fast growing clients to large corporate entities. Our clients come from all industries, so exposure to multiple sectors would be an  advantage (although not an essential requirement). The role requires the successful  candidate to demonstrate an extensive and broad range of technical knowledge in customs and excise duty matters, the associated regimes and the ability to practically interpret and apply the impact of these regimes on international trade and supply chains. More specifically, this role may incorporate providing technical advice, developing referrals, devising customs and international trade focused marketing initiatives and an element of responsibility for developing business opportunities, whilst ensuring that the needs of our clients are met. On a daily basis, this role may include liaising with clients to resolve queries, communicating with internal departments to ensure deadlines are met and overseeing client portfolios to ensure HMRC deadlines are met, as a well as assisting the partners in delivery of cross-cutting advisory projects. 

This role will require the successful candidate to regularly liaise with and meet clients on a one to one basis relying on their depth of technical knowledge to support the client and their business activities from a customs and excise perspective.

In terms of qualifications, we want to ensure we are offering the best service to our customers and we recognise that the knowledge and skill set required to successfully fulfil this role may have been developed over a period of practical experience and technical application, rather than only through a formal qualification process.

As a valued member of the Customs Team, you will have the opportunity to develop your skill set and knowledge base whilst at the same time providing quality, technical advice to our clients. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and reach of the Customs Team and support the wider aims of the Azets group.
