Provide IT Field Engineer support across sites nationwide, delivering high quality services to the end user. Providing support with hardware, installing and fixing PC and support across a large range of hardware devices.
Flexibility to travel across regional locations providing cover and team support - occasional overnight stays away from home when necessary.
Installation and break/fix of PCs, notebooks and printers. |
Installation and troubleshooting of network devices and WiFi access points. |
Installation and break/fix of digital and VOIP telephony systems. |
Software support for: Microsoft Windows, Office, Exchange and Active directory. |
Escalating, updating and resolving tickets to team SLA. |
Working as part of a team during extensive site refurbishments. |
Providing weekly and ad hoc updates to head of the Field Team as appropriate. |
Documenting project work. |
Structured cabling |
Working with and supporting other teams within the IT department such as remote support and 3rd line infrastructure on a day today and ad hoc project basis. |
To keep the workspace tidy and clean |
Other duties as and when required to support the IT daily function. |
Hardware experience, including Intel-based desktops, laptops and servers (mainly HP and Dell) and be able to provide break / fix support at component level. Experience in all versions of Windows Operating systems including Windows Server. |
Networking experience and a strong understanding of DHCP, TCP/IP and DNS. |
A full, clean UK driving license held for a minimum of one year. |
An industrious and motivated approach with excellent communication skills. |
Ability to be customer-focused and deal with a wide range of people at various levels of technical ability. |
Ability to independently resolve a wide variety of complex problems using your expertise and research capabilities. |
Experience of working with third party suppliers, both on-site and off. |
A good understanding of health and safety policy and procedures. |
