I joined Wilkins Kennedy, which became part of Azets, in February 2012. I trained at EY in Southampton, starting in audit in 2005, gaining my Chartered Accountant qualification with ICAS in 2008. I then moved into Corporate Tax, gaining my CTA qualification in 2009.
My work is mainly tax advisory to owner managed businesses and SMEs, across a number of different of areas of taxation, including corporate restructuring (e.g. demergers, insertion of companies, corporate reorganisations, share buy-backs, capital reductions etc.), Research and Development, the implementation of share schemes (e.g. EMI share options schemes). Planning often requires the consideration of relevant shareholder requirements and needs as well as the corporate aspects.
I am a member of ICAS (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland) and CIOT (Chartered Institute of Taxation).
