Lucy specialises in customs and excise duties providing technical advice, guidance and streamlining solutions for businesses involved in the movement of goods, imported into and exported from the UK, the EU and the rest of the world.
Lucy also provides customs related advice on the potential impact of the UK's departure from the EU on 31st January and then imminent negotiations as to the lasting future trading relationship with the EU and the rest of the world.
Prior to joining professional services Lucy held a senior strategy and policy role within HM Revenue & Customs. She also led and directed HMRC’s central team which considers submission from businesses nationally to operate Customs Special Procedures including - Inward Processing, Outward Processing and Authorised Economic Operator status.
Lucy has extensive experience of the customs trade and international trade environments and has worked closely at senior government levels in various overseas jurisdictions advising on upstream customs interdiction, financial crime prevention, customs policy and facilitating customs training to key partners.
Lucy assists clients to navigate, understand and apply the various and complex customs and excise regimes to allow them to use them effectively to support the on-going development of their individual business.
