Jez joined Azets (formerly known as Wilkins Kennedy) in March 2019 as an Employment Tax specialist supporting colleagues and clients in the Southampton office, and increasingly throughout the UK. His career in tax began with the Inland Revenue some 32 years ago, for a total of 19 years. In 2008, Jez took the leap and left HMRC to work in his first role at an accountancy practice, advising businesses ranging from small, owner managed businesses, through to large and complex Plc’s, public sector organisations and charities.
Over the length of his career, Jez has worked alongside many talented individuals and impressive business leaders. At Azets, Jez is now a Director of Tax, based from the Southampton office.
As an Employment Tax specialist, Jez has a broad range of knowledge and assists both colleagues and clients to deal with anything employee/director related that has or may have a tax/national insurance requirement. This could be compliance related issues or reviewing company policies, provision and treatment of benefits to employees, workplace definitions, Construction Industry Scheme, IR35 and employment status, the Apprenticeship Levy and car policies, to name a few.
In and outside of work, Jez enjoys working, helping clients and socialising with people. Jez is also a huge sports fan, especially for cricket and football. (Although, some may question his love of football, being a keen Arsenal fan!).
