H-J started her Azets journey with Day, Smith & Hunter in 2010 in an internal HR role. Her role has grown and developed over the years, and she is now a director, heading up the HR Consultancy team, and delivering external HR advice and support to clients.
As a chartered fellow of the CIPD, H-J has a wealth of experience in HR. She has a diverse and growing portfolio, ranging from owner managed businesses and SMEs to UK subsidiaries of international companies and larger corporates. H-J’s sector experience is broad;she has worked in internal HR for over 18 years in a number of organisations as well as externally for a large number of clients through Azets over the years. H-J adapts well to new industries and sectors and is well aware that one size does not fit all. Many of her clients have been working with H-J for over ten years, as she has become their trusted advisor and confidante on all things HR related.
H-J prides herself in going and above and beyond to exceed expectations. She enjoys the challenge of really getting to know a new client and being able to deliver the best possible service to them, whether that be on an ongoing retained basis, for a one-off project-based assignment or on an ad hoc ‘pay as you go’ basis. H-J focuses on building close working relationships with her clients in order to gain a true understanding of their business, what they need, how they need it and indeed when they need it. She is as happy in a strategic role, as she is demonstrating a very ‘hands on’ approach to clients, depending on their needs. H-J is always keen to demonstrate the positives that good HR can bring to her clients but will always balance this with the commercial aspect of any decision-making process.
Outside of the office, H-J runs her local Brownie unit and is actively involved in life in the village where she lives with her husband. She is an amateur runner, loves rock music and enjoys travelling. She also has a keen interest in WW2 aeroplanes, is a lifetime member of the Sally B supporter’s club and has even been known to take to the skies in a spitfire!
